The School of Marxism at Guangxi University is one of the key institutions in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region dedicated to the study and teaching of Marxism. It upholds the educational philosophy of "Education as the Foundation, Moral Education as the Priority," aiming to cultivate socialist builders and successors with firm Marxist beliefs, solid theoretical foundations, and strong practical abilities.

The history of the School of Marxism at Guangxi University dates back to 1903, when the first president, Ma Junwu, introduced Marxist classics such as "The Communist Manifesto" to China. During the mid-1930s, Li Dazhao, one of the founders of the Communist Party of China, and Chen Wangdao, the first translator of "The Communist Manifesto" into Chinese, both taught at Guangxi University. In 1950, Yang Dongchun, a prominent Marxist theorist, served as the president of Guangxi University, further advancing the teaching and research of Marxist theory.
